Applied Self Defense
Armed and Unarmed

A direct, outcomes-focused curriculum for professionals, law enforcement, and anyone who wants real-world capability — not theory, not sport.

PRAXIS

Awareness, Options, Ability

The Praxis track distills the most applicable elements of Kali, Panantukan, JKD, Silat, and Muay Thai into a concise, abbreviated practical curriculum. No belt system. No tournament preparation. The emphasis is entirely on functional outcomes — what works, why it works, and how to access it under real conditions.

Unarmed - EDC - Improvised Weapons

Comprehensive self-defense training across all ranges — from striking and grappling to weapons proficiency — represents the most honest and complete approach to personal protection. The ability to function in the kicking range, punching range, clinch, and on the ground ensures that no single range becomes an exploitable weakness. Beyond empty-hand skills, training with a knife, pistol, and impact weapons such as a flashlight adds critical layers of capability. It is the development of these integrated skills — each range and tool informed by and connected to the others — that separates genuine preparedness from isolated technique. This is precisely the foundation of the NW Kali curriculum, which is designed from the ground up to develop the complete practitioner. Rather than treating striking, grappling, and weapons as separate disciplines, NW Kali integrates them into a unified cohesive, system that reflects the realities of the street rather than the limitations of any single sport or tradition. Training across all these ranges and tools doesn't create a fighter looking for trouble — it creates a prepared, aware individual whose depth of integrated skills produces the confidence and competence to avoid conflict when possible, and resolve it decisively when unavoidable.

A single four-hour class can offer valuable exposure to concepts, techniques, and awareness

  • Most encounters unfold in seconds - not minutes.

  • Law enforcement responds after an incident begins.

  • Awareness and skill must be developed in advance.

  • Preparation determines outcome- not intention.

In a real confrontation, you don't perform what you've been shown once —
you perform what your body has internalized through hundreds of repetitions

Self Defense is a perishable skill

In a real situation, there is no pause and no warning. The first moments are yours to manage.
That is where training matters.

If you are serious about developing real-world capability
